MAGEBU was established as part of the Government’s strategic efforts to stimulate trade, attract investment, and integrate more deeply into regional and global value chains. Rooted in the country's long-standing commitment to economic development and regional cooperation, the Free Zone was conceived as a catalyst for industrialization, export growth, and private sector empowerment.
Magebu is a legally registered company in Burundi, operating under the country’s Free Zone Regime. Fully compliant with all regulatory requirements, Magebu is fully compliant and holds all necessary licences and permits to conduct its operations. The company is established under Law No. 1/30 of August 31, 1992, and the revised Law No. 1/015 of July 31, 2001, supported by Ministerial Ordinance No. 750/649 dated August 22, 2002.
